14th Jun' 2021 (Evening)

  • Markets opened on a slightly negative note today. Global cues were somber and our markets opened accordingly.
  • Strong profit booking was seen on both the indices and a sharp decline of 200 points on Nifty and 600 points on BankNifty was seen. Both indices however found support and recovered to near opening levels, making candles with a long lower shadow. An indication of support at lower levels.
  • Nifty support came in at 15600 and BankNifty at 15380. These could be immediate support for this week expiry on Thursday. These levels should be watched for any breach in the coming sessions.
  • FII sold today for 500Cr and DII bought for 500Cr. The same story of FII selling one day and buying another day was repeated today.
  • On the FnO side though, the FII unwound a good 17962 longs and also created 6406 shorts. This now changes their position on index to 75:25 in favor of longs from the earlier 83:17.
  • On the options front the FII sold equal number of calls and puts. Though they also bought some calls and puts.
  • The VIX increased today to 14.72. Lets see if this goes up further. I would expect this to go up from here as we approach this week expiry and then, next, we have the last week for this series.
  • US markets are trading with a slight cut today. The FED meeting this week is being looked at and probably traders do not want to enter the announcements with heavy positions.
  • Globally, there is a discussion of some tapering, though the 10Y yields are at a low at the moment, we would wait to watch for Fed speech on Wednesday and the US economic data expected tomorrow.
  • Options data indicates, Nifty at the moment has support at 15600 and BankNifty seems weaker and seems to be supported between 34500 and 35000.
  • Important levels to watch would be todays lows in any case.
  • Nifty is strong above 15500 and BankNifty is weak below 34500 in general.
