  • As mentioned yesterday, markets were extremely volatile today. VIX shot up to 25 plus today. options premium also rose as a result.
  • Indices saw heavy selling today. FII sold for 900Cr and DII also sold for a similar figure. Total selling of 1800 Cr sent indices tanking down. 
  • On the Index futures though, do not see a heavy shorting from FII side. rather some longs were created and some shorts unwound. So o not really expect a deep correction from here. Well, nothing is right in markets though.
  • US yields have eased out a bit and the Dollar index has also come down. Both are good signs for equity. DJI has slowly slid into green as i am writing this.
  • Yesterdays range indicated by the options was broken on the lower side. Nifty now indicates a range of 14500-15000. Bank Nifty indicates range of 34500 -35500. 
  • Next Nifty support at 14574 and Bank Nifty support at 34343.

1. FII were net sellers for 893 Cr today, while DII were sellers for 919 Cr. A net selling of 1812 Cr from the institutional side.

2. FII's created 5630 longs and unwound 3464 shorts on the indices

3. On the option front FII  sold 18648 calls and   unwound 10677 puts. They also bought 31154 calls and  bought 36906 Puts.

4. For next week expiry, Nifty has the highest OI for PE at 14000 followed by 14500 and highest OI for CE is at 15000 followed by 16000. Highest Put writing was seen at 14700 and highest call writing was seen at 15000 levels.

5. For the next week expiry, Bank Nifty has the highest OI for PE at 35000 followed by 34000 and highest OI for CE is at 37500 followed by 36000. Highest Put writing was seen at 33000 and highest call writing was seen at 37500 levels. 

6. Asian markets closed mixed and European markets closed in red

7. US markets trading with some losses

8. The breadth of the market was negative

9. Nifty opened at 14999 and made an intra day high of 15010 and a low of 14635 before closing at 15010 .The range of Nifty for the day was 375 points.

10. Bank Nifty opened at 35874 and made an intra day high of 36128 and a low of 35097 before closing at 35841 .The range of Nifty for the day was 1031 points.

11. UD Dollar Index is trading at 90.15

12. Almost all sectors closed in red exept metals

13. India VIX increased to 25.47

14. US 10Y yields closed higher at 1.331

Starting weak, the month of October saw decent gains and closed almost at month highs. Market was still strong and on the first day of the current series also, the indices were relatively strong.  #Nifty made 4 consecutive bullish candles on the daily chart. #BankNifty made a bearish candle after 3 bullish candles, however still made a higher high and a higher low. Levels : Both #Nifty and #BankNifty are in a range of 17650 to 17900 and 39825 to 41550 respectively. In this range #BankNifty saw some profit booking on Friday, while #Nifty is yet to test the upper level. I expected #Nifty to test 17900 on Friday, however this did not happen. A net buying of 625 Cr from the institutional side. 2. FII's created 1390 longs and unwound 17862 shorts on the index futures 3.
