  • What a day it was today. Markets opened strong and then never looked back. As mentioned yesterday, Bank Nifty and financials are strong. Bank Nifty made a strong gain of 1197 points. Other financials leaders I mentioned yesterday, also made strong gains. BajFinance and BajFinSv made decent gains.
  • VIX is down and FII are back with a bang after the weekend. Global Cues supported and indices made a ATH breaking the range I was mentioning for some time. BankNifty made new highs and Nifty also closed above 15300.
  • The range of the indices has expanded towards the top. Nifty has strong support now at 15200 and BankNifty should now take support at 36500. Though the options data indicate a wider range of 15000-15500 and 35000-39000.
  • Need to see the follow through tomorrow. As of now shorting is not recommended.
  • With two major markets closed (US and China). There would not be any handover from the mother markets tomorrow.

1. FII were net buyers for 1234 Cr today, while DII were sellers for 1048 Cr. A net selling of 186 Cr from the institutional side.

2. FII's created 6779 longs and created 1328 shorts on the indices

3. On the option front FII  unwound 1038 calls and   sold 27229 puts. They also bought 19029 calls and  bought 19553 Puts.

4. For next week expiry, Nifty has the highest OI for PE at 15200 followed by 15000 and highest OI for CE is at 15500 followed by 16000. Highest Put writing was seen at 15200 and highest call writing was seen at 15600 levels.

5. For the next week expiry, Bank Nifty has the highest OI for PE at 35000 followed by 34500 and highest OI for CE is at 39000 followed by 38000. Highest Put writing was seen at 36500 and highest call writing was seen at 39000 levels. 

6. Chinese markets were closed today, other Asian markets closed strongly in green. 

7. US markets closed today

8. The breadth of the market was neutral

9. Nifty opened at 15270 and made an intra day high of 15340 and a low of 15243 before closing at 15314 .The range of Nifty for the day was 97 points.

10. Bank Nifty opened at 36501 and made an intra day high of 37449 and a low of 36405 before closing at 37306 .The range of Nifty for the day was 1044 points.

11. UD Dollar Index is trading at 90.33

12. Banking and financials were the starts of the day.

13. India VIX reduced to 21.48

Starting weak, the month of October saw decent gains and closed almost at month highs. Market was still strong and on the first day of the current series also, the indices were relatively strong.  #Nifty made 4 consecutive bullish candles on the daily chart. #BankNifty made a bearish candle after 3 bullish candles, however still made a higher high and a higher low. Levels : Both #Nifty and #BankNifty are in a range of 17650 to 17900 and 39825 to 41550 respectively. A net buying of 625 Cr from the institutional side. 2. FII's created 1390 longs and unwound 17862 shorts on the index futures 3. On the option front FII  unwound 7656 short calls and   unwound 28440 short puts. They also closed 34543 long calls and  closed 96232 long Puts. 4.
